WF Wallet

Digital policy wallet for insurance clients

WF Wallet is a client-facing Android app for a financial advisory firm. Policyholders keep every insurance policy in one place and file a claim, with photos and a signature, straight from their phone instead of calling an advisor.

The challenge

The firm's clients had no single digital place to see their active policies or start a claim. Coverage details lived scattered across paper documents and separate advisor conversations, so a client who needed to check what was covered, or file a claim, had to track down the right paperwork or call their advisor first.

Who uses it

Policyholders
Browse their insurance policies by category, file claims with photos and a signature, and scan QR codes.
Advisory firm admins
Manage users, policies and coupon offers from the PHP admin console.

What we built

The Android app lets clients browse their policies across nine insurance categories (household, health, motor, liability, legal, travel, hospital, life, pension), file a claim with photos and an on-screen signature, scan a QR code, and verify sign-in by OTP. A PHP admin console and REST API, shared with the firm's WFGoal tool, manage users, policies and coupon offers behind the scenes.

  • Policy wallet

Clients browse active policies across nine categories: household, health, motor, liability, legal, travel, hospital, life and pension.

  • Claim filing

Clients file a claim with attached photos and an on-screen signature captured on the device.

  • QR code scan

A built-in scanner reads QR codes, for example to look up a policy or offer.

  • OTP sign-in

Clients verify sign-in with a one-time password sent to their phone.

  • Coupon offers

Admins publish coupon offers that clients see in the app.

  • Admin console

A PHP web console lets the firm manage users, policies and offers behind the scenes.

How it works

  1. Client signs in and verifies with an OTP sent to their phone.
  2. Client browses their policies grouped by category.
  3. Client opens a policy to file a claim, attaching photos and signing on screen.
  4. Client scans a QR code when needed, for example to add a policy or redeem an offer.
  5. Admin reviews users, policies and claim-related activity from the console.

Every part of the product

  • Android app

    Kotlin/Java

Client-facing app for browsing policies, filing claims and OTP sign-in.

  • PHP admin console

    PHP

Back-office console for the firm to manage users, policies and coupon offers.

  • PHP API backend

    PHP, REST

Shared REST API serving both the WF Wallet app and the firm's WFGoal tool.

How it’s built

The Android app uses Firebase for authentication, push messaging, storage and crash reporting, alongside an OTP pin-entry flow, an on-device signature pad and a QR code scanner for the parts of the claims flow that need photo and signature evidence. The PHP API backend is shared between WF Wallet and the firm's internal WFGoal sales tool, so user, policy and ticket data stay consistent across both products instead of being duplicated in two systems.
