INWIN

Production and yarn tracking for a spinning mill

INWIN tracks yarn sent out for doubling and returned to a spinning mill, reconciling weight and cone counts on every Inward and Outward Challan. A production module extends the same system to the shop floor, recording output, waste and machine efficiency from waste godown to packing.

The challenge

The owner needed accurate weight-based wastage tracking across multiple doubling parties, something spreadsheets couldn't keep consistent as volume grew. Later, the mill wanted the actual manufacturing floor, from waste godown through packing, captured and costed in the same system instead of being tracked separately, with proper role-based access as more staff started using it.

Who uses it

Mill staff
Record Delivery and Inward Challans, reconciling yarn weight and cone counts against doubling parties.
Production operator
Logs shift output, waste and machine data across each production stage on the shop floor.
Admin
Manages role-based permissions, onboards machines, workers and staff, and reviews wastage and efficiency reports.

What we built

A PHP and MySQL API with a responsive web app and a Tauri desktop build. The mill side reconciles delivery and inward challans by weight and cone count, with monthly wastage carried forward. The production module records each shift's output, waste and machine efficiency from blow room to packing, under role-based permissions, with spreadsheet import for machines, workers and staff.

  • Delivery and Inward Challans

Tracks yarn sent out for doubling and returned, by weight and cone quantity, per doubling party.

  • Monthly wastage carry-forward

Wastage is reconciled and carried forward month to month so discrepancies don't get lost.

  • Shop-floor production tracking

Records every shift's output and waste across Blow Room, Carding, Drawing, Simplex, Spinning and Auto Coner.

  • Machine efficiency reporting

Calculates machine efficiency per shift and stage from the recorded output and waste figures.

  • Role-based permissions

Access to Mill and Production data is controlled by role, so staff only see and edit what their role covers.

  • Tauri desktop build

A desktop app build of the same system for shop-floor machines, alongside the web app.

  • Bulk master-data import

Onboards machines, workers and staff in bulk from a spreadsheet instead of entering them one by one.

How it works

  1. Mill staff record a Delivery Challan when yarn is sent out to a doubling party, by weight and cone count.
  2. When yarn returns, an Inward Challan is recorded and reconciled against the delivery figures.
  3. Wastage is calculated and carried forward in the monthly reconciliation.
  4. On the production side, operators log each shift's output and waste at every stage from Blow Room to packing.
  5. The system calculates machine efficiency per shift and stage.
  6. Admins review reports and manage role-based access across both modules.

  • Master-data import tool

    PHP CLI

Bulk-imports machines, workers and staff from a spreadsheet during onboarding.

How it’s built

INWIN is a PHP and MySQL REST API behind a vanilla-JS, light/dark responsive frontend, deliberately kept framework-light on the client side. The Mill module reconciles Delivery and Inward Challans by weight and cone quantity across multiple doubling parties, with wastage carried forward monthly. The Production module was added later to capture the shop floor itself, recording shift output, waste and machine efficiency across six stages from Blow Room through Auto Coner to packing, under a role-based permission system so access matches each user's job. A Tauri desktop build packages the same app for shop-floor machines, and a bulk import tool onboards machines, workers and staff from a spreadsheet instead of manual entry.

Questions about INWIN

What does INWIN do?

INWIN is a production and yarn-trading system Venzpire built for a spinning mill. It tracks yarn sent for doubling and returned by weight and cone count, and a production module records shop-floor output, waste and machine efficiency from waste godown to packing.

Which platforms does INWIN run on?

INWIN is a PHP and MySQL web app with a responsive light/dark interface, plus a Tauri desktop build of the same app for shop-floor machines. Both are backed by the same PHP REST API.

How does INWIN track wastage and production?

INWIN reconciles yarn weight and cone counts on every Delivery and Inward Challan, carrying wastage forward monthly. Its production module logs each shift's output and waste across six manufacturing stages and calculates machine efficiency, all under role-based permissions.
