Logistics

Parcel delivery platform for five user roles

This logistics platform covers an entire parcel delivery operation in one system. Customers book and track parcels, drivers handle pickups and deliveries, hub staff and employees run day-to-day operations, and a super admin oversees it all.

The challenge

A parcel delivery operator was juggling separate tools for booking, driver dispatch, hub handling, and company oversight. They needed one connected system covering parcel booking and tracking, driver pickup and delivery, hub processing, and super-admin control over users, drivers, hubs, and packages, instead of five disconnected processes.

Who uses it

Customers
Book parcels, use same-day drop-off, and track shipments by tracking number.
Drivers
View assigned package details and delivery history for pickups and drop-offs.
Hub staff
Process parcels as they arrive at and leave a hub.
Employees
Handle day-to-day company operations through their own app.
Super admin
Oversee users, drivers, hubs, packages, and admins across the whole platform.

What we built

Five Flutter apps: customers book parcels and track them by number, drivers handle pickups and deliveries, and hub staff, employees and a super admin each get their own tools. One PHP API with per-role access powers them all, with Firebase for analytics, crash reports and remote config.

  • Parcel booking

Customers book a parcel for pickup and delivery, including same-day drop-off.

  • Tracking by number

Customers track a parcel's status by entering its tracking number.

  • Driver package details

Drivers see assigned packages with pickup and delivery details.

  • Delivery history

Drivers can review their past pickups and deliveries.

  • Hub-admin processing

Hub staff manage parcels moving through their hub.

  • Super-admin console

Centralized management of users, drivers, hubs, packages, and admins.

  • Shared role-based API

One PHP API with per-role classes powers all five apps.

  • Firebase integration

Analytics, crash reporting, and remote config across the apps.

How it works

  1. Customer books a parcel, choosing standard or same-day drop-off.
  2. Customer tracks the parcel's status by its tracking number.
  3. Driver sees the package assigned to them with pickup and delivery details.
  4. Driver completes the pickup and delivery, updating the record.
  5. Hub staff process the parcel as it passes through their hub.
  6. Super admin monitors users, drivers, hubs, and packages across the platform.

How it’s built

Five separate Flutter apps share one PHP API with per-role classes for user, driver, employee, hub admin, and super admin, so each app only sees and does what its role is allowed to. This kept the apps lean while centralizing business logic and data access in one backend. Firebase covers analytics, crash reporting, and remote config across all five apps, giving the team visibility into usage and stability without building that tooling separately for each app.

Questions about Logistics

What does this logistics platform do?

It is a parcel delivery platform with five Flutter apps: customers book and track parcels, drivers handle pickups and deliveries, hub staff process parcels at a hub, employees run day-to-day operations, and a super admin oversees users, drivers, hubs, and packages. Venzpire built all five apps and the shared PHP API behind them.

Which platforms does the logistics platform run on?

All five apps, for customers, drivers, hub staff, employees, and the super admin, are built in Flutter, sharing one PHP API with per-role access classes. There is no separate native app per platform; Flutter covers Android and iOS from one codebase per app.

How do customers track a parcel in this logistics platform?

Customers enter a tracking number in the user app to see their parcel's status, after booking it for standard or same-day drop-off. Venzpire built this alongside the driver, hub-admin, employee, and super-admin apps that handle the parcel after booking.
