ZappyPrint

Photo printing app with an admin panel

ZappyPrint lets anyone turn phone photos into physical prints. Customers pull images from their gallery, Facebook, or Instagram, pick a print product, and pay, while staff manage the catalog and orders from an admin panel.

The challenge

A print-on-demand business needed a mobile app where customers could pick photos from wherever they actually keep them, not just a camera roll, choose a print product, and pay, plus a back office where staff could manage categories, pricing, and incoming orders without touching the app's code.

Who uses it

Customers
Register with OTP, pick photos from gallery, Facebook, or Instagram, choose print products, and pay.
Admin staff
Manage sub-categories, user accounts, and order and address data from a PHP admin panel.

What we built

We built a native Android app with onboarding, login/register with OTP, category browsing, and a print-upload flow with tabs for My Gallery, Facebook, and Instagram photo sources, plus a payment screen. A PHP/MySQL admin panel and REST API handle sub-categories, user accounts, and address/order data behind it.

  • Multi-source photo picker

Upload photos from the phone gallery, Facebook, or Instagram in one upload flow with source tabs.

  • OTP login and register

Customers sign up and log in with phone-based OTP verification.

  • Category browsing

Customers browse print products by category before choosing what to order.

  • Payment screen

In-app checkout flow for completing a print order.

  • Admin panel

PHP and MySQL back office for managing sub-categories, users, addresses, and orders.

  • REST API

Shared API layer connecting the Android app to the admin panel's data.

  • Onboarding flow

First-run screens introduce new customers to the app before registration.

How it works

  1. Customer completes onboarding and registers with phone OTP.
  2. They browse print product categories in the app.
  3. They pick photos from their gallery, Facebook, or Instagram.
  4. They choose a print product and quantity for the selected photos.
  5. They pay on the payment screen to place the order.
  6. Admin staff see and manage the order through the PHP admin panel.

Every part of the product

  • Android app

    Kotlin

Native Android app for browsing, uploading photos, and ordering prints.

  • PHP admin panel

    PHP, MySQL

Back office for managing categories, users, addresses, and orders.

  • REST API

    PHP

Shared API connecting the Android app to the admin panel's database.

How it’s built

The app's upload flow was built around three distinct photo sources, gallery, Facebook, and Instagram, each its own tab feeding a common upload and print-product selection path. OTP-based login and registration verify customers before they can order. A PHP and MySQL admin panel sits behind a REST API, giving staff control over sub-categories, user accounts, and address and order data without needing app updates for catalog changes.

What does the ZappyPrint app do?

ZappyPrint is a native Android app for ordering custom photo prints. Customers pick photos from their phone gallery, Facebook, or Instagram, choose a print product, and pay, while a PHP admin panel lets staff manage categories, users, and orders. Venzpire built the app, API, and admin panel.

Which platforms does ZappyPrint run on?

ZappyPrint is a native Android app built in Kotlin, backed by a PHP and MySQL admin panel and REST API. The admin side runs as a web back office for staff rather than a mobile app.

How do customers upload photos in ZappyPrint?
